About the role

Job Purpose: Develop and oversee development of education content (primarily written) related to ISSB Standards—informed by relevant aspects of instructional design and technology/platforms—and advise colleagues on developing content.
Reports to: ISSB Education Programme Lead

The team

  • This role reports to the leader of the function that oversees ISSB’s education content.
  • The education function has a dual reporting structure, with a solid line into the ISSB technical team and dotted line into the market engagement team.
  • This role does not include people management responsibilities, at least for the foreseeable future but will require the ability to collaborate successfully with others.

Principal accountabilities

  • Develop unique content and/or improve existing content.
  • Ensure new education content is developed accurately, efficiently, and within scope. This will involve either creating content on your own or refining/editing content that others have created, depending on the topic, your workload, and others’ availability.
  • Maintain the FSA Credential study guides, sample questions, and corresponding exams at least once every two years.
  • Ensure necessary materials are provided in accordance with education strategy
  • Liaise with ISSB technical team members who develop official standard setting-based education materialand those developing ‘one to many’ materials that have been agreed should be created outside educational team
  • Ensure that all content is produced and prepared in accordance with the requirements of the IFRS Foundation’s Due Process Handbook.
  • Advise and coach other content creators on the desired format, voice/tone, learning objectives, and key elements of the Foundation’s style guide.
  • Identify and prioritise updates to existing materials based on (a) new developments relevant to our materials and/or (b) feedback from stakeholders. Then ensure those updates are made.
  • Source and shape content contributions from internal and external collaborators.
  • Cultivate existing (and new) relationships with internal and external subject matter experts who could or do inform and supplement your content development efforts.
  • Work with contractors and vendors who support the design and delivery of educational content, including design, copyedit and exam development vendors.

Qualifications and experience

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects that require seeking internal and external feedback, listening constructively and exercising judgment to produce high-quality results.
  • Familiarity with asset management, corporate sustainability, and/or corporate financial reporting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with application of financial reporting standards preferred.
  • Experience with instructional design, professional training workshops, e-learning offerings, continuing education delivery and/or certification exam development is a plus.
  • Significant professional experience (Note that the most important qualifications are related to the skills mentioned above and good candidates could be either well established in their careers or newer in their professional lives).

  • Ability to prepare materials within regulated environment subject to formal quality control and due process requirements.
  • Highly collaborative: experience and success with coordinating with colleagues to achieve objectives, particularly colleagues who do not have a direct reporting relationship to you.
  • Enthusiasm for entrepreneurial environments; comfort with fast-changing conditions and enthusiasm for working on small teams that move quickly and employ a roll-up-your sleeves mentality (which also gives you the opportunity to have a big impact on the final outcome).
